A Week In Tenerife, Spain

From the 5th of December till the 11th of December I went to Tenerife, to enjoy some time off from work and to truly relax for a week! So nice to go to warmer weather when it’s so cold in the Netherlands. In this blog I will tell you all about my experiences in Tenerife! Have you ever been there?

Our flight was early in the morning, so we had to get up in the middle of the night to catch our flight. We flew with Transavia, and we had a really nice flight. It was a bit longer than I expected tough. Flight time was about 4 hours and 50 minutes. I always enjoy the views from up high so of course I had to take some photos. We were so excited to go to warmer weather!

When we arrived at the airport in Tenerife, you could immediately feel the warm and relaxing weather. It was so nice and about 25 degrees celsius outside. Perfect for me! We had a transfer to our hotel which was about 20 minutes with a bus.

Hotel Jardin Tropical

We arrived at our hotel around lunchtime, and I was so happily surprised! The hotel was so beautiful! We got help with our bags, and with checking in we got a glass of champaign. So classy! We had to wait 10 minutes for our room to be ready. Then someone walked with us to our room and brought our suitcases inside. The hotel room was perfect! Loved the decorations. Here is a short clip from our room.

After we got into our hotel room we changed into some more summery clothes and went to explore the hotel. Turned out it was really big with 3 restaurants, the big pool with sun beds and 3 different bars. A sunset bar, smoothy bar and lava bar. Here are some impressions.

The Island

Because we wanted to enjoy the nice weather as much as possible, we didn’t do much on the island. There is a long boulevard where you can walk through different places at the coast. Unfortunately it was very touristy and there was not much attention to styling. It was build in the 80’s or 90’s and since then nothing has changed! Kinda ugly =O I’m sure other places on the island are very beautiful but around our hotel it was not really our style. Luckily our hotel was really beautiful so we spend most of our time there.

After a great week with sun, cocktails and relaxing we had to go home already. We had a great time and did a lot of relaxing on this vacation! It was much needed. It is also really nice to go to some warmer weather, when you know it’s really cold in the Netherlands.

Back home it’s about 1 degrees celsius right now, so I’m glad we could have some warmer weather for this vacation.

Hope you enjoyed my blog about Tenerife! Are you traveling anywhere soon?
