7 Tips To Lose Weight

A few blogs ago I encouraged you to start with sports, and I’m not done yet! In this blog I will give you valuable tips to lose weight. Do you want to build muscle or lose weight and build muscle at the same time? Stay tuned! Those blogs will come soon!

Here are my 7 tips to lose weight:

 

1.       Set A Goal For Yourself

This is so important. Set a goal for yourself. Think about what you want to accomplish. If you don’t, you easily get demotivated and also you lose track of what you are doing. So there are two main goals that you can achieve. Losing weight or building muscles. Or both of course, but that’s a bit more complicated. Think about how much weight you want to lose, and in what period of time.

2.       A Negative Calorie Balance

Want to lose weight? Than you have to put less in your body than it needs in a day. That way, your body is going to use the reserves it has to survive: your fat. An average male consumes about 2500 calories per day to stay the same weight. You have to get underneath that. Go sit around 1500-2000 calories a day. How do you do that? Eat less than normal or by doing cardio. Healthy foods mostly don’t have much calories, so by eating healthy you can get started. Doing cardio speeds up the process because you are burning calories.

3.       Use A Calorie Counter

Start using a calorie counter. It maybe sounds a bit too much, but it can really help you to get the right insights in your daily food pattern. MyFitnessPall is a realy good and handy app. See what you’re eating in a day and get rid of some foods that are no good to you. Stay away from those cookies, chips and fries!

4.       Do Cardio Three Times A Week

I advise to start doing cardio three times a week. You can start with one or two times a week and start building it up. Cardio is really important if you want to lose weight, because you are burning calories! That way, you get underneath your calorie needs faster and start losing weight! Think about things like cycling, cross training, running or even walking. You don’t want to go to a gym? Go for an hour walk outside! Or go play Pokémon Go of course =P

5.       Don’t Do Heavy Diets

Complicated and heavy diets are not necessary! Keeping up with those diets is really hard. Sometimes they are very unhealthy for your body too. Do it the original way. Use the tips I give here to get it done! Eat healthy, do cardio and get under your calorie needs. This way you also get used to it in your daily life and you have less chance to start gaining weight again.

6.       Cheatday

I love this day. Once a week you can eat everything you want. Cheatday! It’s way more bearable to eat healthy all the time, when you have a cheatday. Besides, a cheatday helps to boost your metabolism so you can lose more weight after that day! Also, it helps for your cravings. Cravings you have sometimes if you want to have unhealthy food.

7.       Keep Going

The most important thing you have to do is to keep going! When you keep going, you are going to see results. Then you can reach your goal! Let it become a routine in your life. Maybe do it with a friend so you can motivate each other.
